Our strengths
Comprehensive and enriching courses
Because restoration-conservation is a multidisciplinary art, we do everything possible to provide a set of precise techniques and solid knowledge, enabling the progressive acquisition of professional skills.
A team of passionate instructors
Our teaching team is entirely composed of caring and qualified professionals who support small groups of learners (6 to 15 students max).
Internships to the ends of the earth
All learners have the opportunity to complete internships in professional settings to deepen their knowledge, techniques, and expand their network. From the Paris region to Peru, via the Himalayas, we encourage openness to diversity in unfamiliar territory.
Immersive training in our workshop
Our training takes place at Atelier du Temps Passé, a privileged setting that allows learners to face many unique cases and refine their skills through contact with renowned craftsmen.
Who are we?
ATP-Formation was developed through the meeting and experience of several painting and art object restorer-conservators. Located in the heart of Paris, within the prestigious Viaduc des Arts, the training is aimed at both young students and people seeking a career change, offering solid theoretical and practical teaching, leading to a professional certification obtained in 3 years.
Testimonials
"Excellent painting restoration school. The skills of the teaching staff and the level of practical and scientific instruction live up to the reputation of Atelier du Temps Passé Formation (ATP Formation)!"
Sybille LdC.
“I was able to discover and learn the 'rules of the art' to practice the meticulous and fascinating profession of restorer-conservator thanks to ATP-Formation! I can't wait to fully practice it once my thesis is completed. I've learned that each artwork is unique and cannot be subjected to a universal intervention protocol! The techniques and methods taught are essential to properly understand how to handle each piece."
Valentina K.
“ATP-Formation is a professional school with quality teachers from d'ifferent backgrounds. But above all, it's a human-centered school where small class sizes allow for better daily support and greater conviviality! I really loved my years at ATP!"
Isaure ML.

Most restorers in France work as independents and serve private clients, often within shared workshops.
-
With our certification, you can work for all institutions (museums, historic monuments, foundations, etc.) except for National Museums, whose tenders are reserved for restorer-conservators with university degrees.
-
If your certificate or module is less than 5 years old, you can absolutely be exempted from the relevant module.
-
There is no age limit to enroll in the training, but please note that the program includes theoretical, technical, and practical courses delivered over 2 to 3 years.
-
Not at all! The history-archaeometry program, along with Science courses and Practical Work, allows students to approach the scientific method and progressively acquire the essential foundations for a future professional in cultural heritage restoration.
-
Module validation remains active for 5 years, so you have the option to work toward certification progressively if you are unable to follow the initial program.
